Hydrothecae barrel-shaped to almost cylindrical, usually radially symmetrical but some slightly asymmetrical proximally, maximum width at about one third to one half distance up from the proximal end. Body of hydrothecae with 9 - 12 entire, annular, deeply incised ridges with upturned edges. Floor of hydrotheca perforated by an excentric hydropore. Margin quadrate, with four equidistant, sharply pointed triangular cusps separated by wide, shallow embayments, cusps occasionally replicated. Operculum delicate, of four triangular, finely striated valves.
