SUMMARY
Hydrorhiza loosely reptant on substrate.
Stems short, simple, proximal region almost the same diameter as hydrorhiza. Stem internodes long, slender, most nodes V-shaped, becoming more pronounced distally.
Hydrothecal pairs anterior on stem, joined anteriorly but separated posteriorly; hydrothecae varying in shape from slightly saccate to cylindrical. Floor of hydrotheca horizontal, adnate adcauline wall straight, free part diverging almost horizontally to the margin. Abcauline wall usually concave but sometimes straight with a distinct concavity and a slight thickening just below margin. Marginal opercular flap consisting of several recurved layers of perisarc attached to the abcauline wall.
Hydranths well preserved, with 20 - 24 tentacles.
Gonothecae on the lower stem, arising on a very short pedicel from below a hydrotheca, barrel-shaped, the greatest width about two thirds the distance up from the base, walls indistinctly undulated, aperture large, circular, surmounted by a short collar. A row of desmocytes below aperture.
Colour: White.
